Karen  gives the following advice. "When we are not happy with a situation in our lives we have the power to change it.
If we follow what's in our heart and soul everything will start to flow for a better life."

lady doing the longest zip wire in Europe

Susi  63 retired councillar says
"Me at 63 3/4 about to do the longest zip wire in Europe at a height of
 nearly 150m!"
Susi also says " I was inspired to do the zip wire by
another lady with MS (multiple sclerosis), Pearl, who
is 85 and did it last year!

Susi messages:
 "Hi Ladies!
I would like to invite all tall girls and ladies who are reluctant to wear high heels to go for it, girls! I was with 5'8'' always taller than the average woman for years, I waited until I was 50 to say to myself: I am going for high heels now and who cares if I tower above woman and mankind!
BUT, now I have MS and can't walk the walk very well. My wardrobe has quite a lot of high heeled shoes I've barely worn....
SO! I'd like to give them away to any girl/woman with size 7 1/2 or 8 feet who wants to drop round! I live in Chester, England 😊 Susi

I work hard, I look after my family and spend a lot of time thinking about them in my free moments, I make sure I exercise and enjoy sports. To relax I listen to music, read and spend time with my friends. This is my recipe for a for filling life!

"Feeling good after fifty is all about being authentic. Don't pretend to be anything you're not...too late for that. People will be attracted to you and new opportunities will arise. Also important just to be. Do this by being mindful of every day and every moment, and accept what you cannot change. But as the saying goes still strive to change what can be changed. That keeps life interesting. It's time to be non judgemental and approach and love your girlfriends like never before."

Erica, age 54, says.....

Creativity has always been an important part of my life & I have drawn & painted since I was a child. My mother was an artist & always encouraged me to make art. At sixteen, going to art college was a natural thing for me to do, but it wasn’t until I was older that I fully appreciated the value of my mother’s creative legacy.

I find drawing & painting so totally absorbing that these activities become an almost meditative process for me. I have to concentrate so hard on the moment that all other thoughts & concerns are blocked out – a perfect route to mindfulness for me. The psychology of art making shows that during the creative process, the logic, speech & information processing left-brain is closed down allowing the intuitive right-brain to take over.

TIP: No time to fit creativity into your day?

I always carry a tiny sketchpad or unlined notebook, a pencil & black ball point in my handbag for those spur of the moment sketches!

Erica has her own blog and website, a wonderful place to explore your creative talents!

Carla's advice is ....
"Always wait 24 hours before doing anything rash. Take time to think about it carefully and calmly, things look different the next day.
"

Sarah advises...
"Don't be too fast to judge others, you never know what may be going on in their lives. Give everyone a chance."

Amy, Writer says....

"There are many seminal changes in a woman's life from 50 forward, not the least of those experiencing the death of parents, other elders, siblings, spouses, ex-spouses and friends, sometimes one after the other. It is important to grieve at your own pace, in your own way; no two journeys are similar."

"Even if you experience several different emotions in a short space of time, almost always the grieving process surprisingly includes humour and a sense of gratitude for the time spent together. "

"That said, sometimes you are totally numb, especially when facing the complicated grieving process for those with whom you had a difficult relationship, or other conflicts, many unresolved at the time of death, and that is normal, too. It's your process. Embra
ce it."

"I'm really enjoying the site. My advice is to wear only what suits you: pared down elegance is best as you get older rather than fussy detail!"

I sat down very early this morning with my 1st coffee of the day (1 of only 2 I allow myself!) with the intention of browsing my way through all the sections of the site, as for once I wasn't rushing out!
I loved it and felt very at home , reading it is like I was chatting with a good friend over coffee, which is exactly the aim of the site !  It's one flow of down-to-earth comments and ideas, and directions via useful links to more technical and professional information, if need be.
Being a chatty sort, with a certain facility on the keyboard, I think I will come here often! :  firstly, to keep up-to-date;  secondly for a cool virtual “chat”;  and thirdly, to share now and again, ideas and hints on a theme or two. "
